A significant development in the identification card industry has emerged as a Stockport-based ID card company will create 40 new jobs following its acquisition by an American competitor.
Digital ID Group, the largest ID card firm in the United Kingdom, has been acquired by Oregon-based AlphaCard System. AlphaCard System now employs 360 staff across 11 cities around the globe. Jonathan Fell, managing director of Digital ID Group, expressed that joining forces with AlphaCard Systems was an unmissable opportunity due to AlphaCard’s strong reputation, impressive team, and excellent client base.
Founded in 1998, AlphaCard System is the largest ID card company in the United States, specialising in the supply of photo ID card printers, consumables, and ID software. Todd Muscato, senior vice president of AlphaCard Systems, highlighted that the company’s impressive growth over the past few years has been driven by the introduction of the AlphaCard PRO series, a new and innovative line of ID card printers.
Muscato further remarked, ‘It has taken a lot of hard work and talented people to achieve the results we have seen in the US, and we are thrilled to be in a position to expand our brand globally. Myself and the team look forward to working with the team at Digital ID and the benefits we will experience from working alongside their ambitious and fast-growing organisation.’
Digital ID, established in 1990, also maintains offices in London, Gothenburg, and Amsterdam. This acquisition marks a significant expansion for both companies and is anticipated to bring substantial benefits to their operations and customer service capabilities.
This acquisition represents a pivotal moment in the ID card industry, combining the strengths of two leading companies to potentially redefine market standards and service quality globally.
