Manchester’s PR and communications agency, Refresh, has been selected by HALT, a leader in innovative fire retardant timber treatments, to elevate awareness of its specialist products across the United Kingdom.
HALT, a subsidiary of the Pure Fitout Group, has recently completed several prestigious projects in London and other locations in the UK. With recent changes in the regulatory landscape, HALT has invested significantly in its fire-retardant timber treatment division, operating from a €1.4m (£1.2m) purpose-built facility in Belfast. The treatment involves pressure impregnation of timber, which prevents oxygen from reaching it, ensuring that the wood chars rather than ignites when exposed to high temperatures in a fire.
Despite the considerable interest HALT’s treatment has generated among UK firms, particularly for large infrastructure projects, Refresh has been engaged to further promote the safety, durability, and sustainability of HALT’s products amongst construction industry professionals nationwide. This strategic collaboration involves Refresh managing all public relations activities for HALT, focusing on enhancing brand visibility, securing direct contact with potential clients, and expanding market reach, especially given the current opportunities in the market driven by the push for Net Zero and more stringent Building Regulations requiring robust fire performance and test data.
Libby Zbaraska, client services director at Refresh, stated, “When we heard about HALT’s fire-retardant timber treatment, we simply had to be involved in shaping and sharing its story. Refresh has specialised in the construction industry since it was founded almost 15 years and, so, our knowledge around fire safety regulations and sustainability targets in the sector is widespread and in-depth. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the team to understand the business and the product, as well as establishing where our support was required and how we can make the most impact. Plus, with HALT’s commitment to sustainability and fire safety, the brand’s values align with our mission to support firms that make a truly positive impact. So, we’re delighted to be working with HALT, and the Pure Fitout Group more widely, on amplifying its voice.”
Refresh is known for its successful campaigns that not only boost brand awareness but also foster strong relationships with industry leaders. The agency’s data-driven approach, combined with creative flair, has earned it numerous industry accolades and a loyal client base. The addition of HALT to its portfolio bolsters Refresh’s position as a leading PR and communications agency in the construction and manufacturing sectors.
Jason Connolly at HALT commented, “When we first met with Refresh, we were instantly impressed with their industry knowledge, enthusiasm and new ideas that could help us to reach our target audiences and grow awareness of our innovative fire-retardant timber treatment. We believe that the team will make the perfect extension of our team to help us maximise our communications and expand our presence in the UK. With their expertise, we are confident that HALT will continue to grow and reach new heights.”
The collaboration between Refresh and HALT will encompass an integrated strategy that includes media relations, social media activity, and events.
This partnership between HALT and Refresh aims to significantly elevate the profile of HALT’s fire-retardant timber products in the UK construction sector, leveraging both organisations’ strengths to achieve their shared goals of safety, sustainability, and market growth.
