Baltic Creative CIC has bolstered its board of directors with the appointment of four new members from the digital, creative, and property sectors.
The newly appointed members bring a wealth of experience that will enable Baltic Creative to continue fostering growth within Liverpool’s creative and digital industries. This development aims to support a thriving ecosystem comprising start-ups, micro-businesses, SMEs, freelancers, and entrepreneurs.
Julian Woods, an entrepreneurship specialist with a background in consumer technology and extensive experience mentoring business owners, joins from his role in gaming as Microsoft’s UK head of Xbox sales and marketing. Liz Edwards, an HR consultant currently pursuing a PhD in community-owned infrastructure, adds her expertise to the board.
Furthermore, Adrien Mogenet, a data science and engineering specialist, supports teams in optimising their business data to boost revenue and maximise efficiencies. Dr Paul Jones, a research practitioner and lecturer at the University of Salford, will bring his professional consulting experience in urban regeneration.
The new appointments coincide with the departure of Dr Fiona Armstrong-Gibbs, who steps down as chair of the board after 15 years. Armstrong-Gibbs, a founding director of Baltic Creative, has been pivotal in nurturing an environment where creative and digital businesses can thrive within the Liverpool City Region. Karen Beddow, who joined the board in 2018, assumes the interim chair position.
Lynn Haime, CEO of Baltic Creative, expressed her gratitude for Armstrong-Gibbs’ contributions and welcomed the new members, emphasising that their diverse experience from various sectors will significantly benefit the organisation.
Armstrong-Gibbs reflects positively on her 15-year tenure, highlighting the professional and personal impact of her journey with Baltic Creative. She expressed confidence in the new leadership team’s ability to continue fostering community and supporting the growth of the creative and digital economy.
The infusion of new talent on the board, coupled with experienced leadership, positions Baltic Creative for continued success in driving innovation and growth in Liverpool’s creative and digital sectors.
