A HealthTech company headquartered in Gloucestershire has successfully secured a major contract to extend its operations into Australia. This development marks the organisation’s inaugural venture into the Australian market.
Founded in 1999, the company has been selected by Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Health to deploy its digital patient flow management solutions throughout Canberra, the capital city of Australia. This venture aims to enhance the efficiency of healthcare services by leveraging IT-based solutions.
The company, renowned for its expertise in IT-based patient flow management solutions, will collaborate with its Australian distributor to introduce advanced queue management and patient wayfinding systems across various hospitals and community healthcare centres in Canberra. The initial tender for this project was submitted in October 2017 for the University of Canberra Public Hospital (UCH), where it achieved preferred bidder status by January of the current year. The agreement has since evolved into a territory-wide contract to implement these solutions across various ACT Health sites.
Chief Executive Mike Sanders expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are delighted to have been chosen to work with ACT Health. This contract represents a significant step forward in our global expansion strategy. We will be implementing electronic wayfinding and digital patient flow management solutions that are expected to be live at UCH by November this year.”
The rollout will include services at Canberra Hospital and community health centres in Belconnen, Gunghalin, Phillip, and Woden, along with the deployment of a mobile appointment manager solution. More than 100 hospitals in the UK, including University College Hospital in London and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, currently utilise components of this system.
This Australian expansion represents a significant milestone for the Gloucestershire-based HealthTech company, solidifying its position as a global player in the healthcare technology sector.
