Towngate PLC has successfully leased three new industrial units within its £6 million+ development site in Walkden to Likewise Floors Limited, a subsidiary of a leading flooring distribution firm. The leases follow the recent completion of the development, which is located at the former Lucozade factory site.
Likewise Floors Limited has committed to a 10-year lease for two units, 3E and 3F, totalling 18,197 sq ft. This lease agreement was signed earlier this year, prior to the completion of the construction. The new units provide high-quality office accommodation and are equipped with features including electrically operated, insulated level access doors, power supplies of up to 100 kVA, and floor loading capacities of up to 37.5 kN/sq m. The site also boasts haunch heights of 10.31 metres at the front and 7.31 metres at the rear, dedicated parking spaces, and 30-metre yards.
The Walkden development has been designed with sustainability in mind. It has received a ‘very good’ rating from sustainability assessor BREEAM and includes features such as photovoltaic solar panels, thermally efficient cladding, air source heat pump systems, energy-efficient LED lighting, and electric vehicle charging points. These elements contribute to the site achieving an EPC rating of ‘A-’ and provide significant cost savings for occupiers.

Additionally, the site is approximately eight miles northwest of Manchester City Centre and three miles southwest of Bolton, allowing for advantageous connections to neighbouring towns and cities.
Currently, only three units remain available for lease within the development, ranging from 5,450 to 17,995 sq ft, with practical completion having taken place on 27 August.
