Band on the Wall has unveiled a New York-inspired bar this month, referred to as The Copper Bar, with support from Sundae Communications.

The Copper Bar pays homage to New York City’s renowned jazz venue, Zinc Bar, and showcases new lighting, a hand-painted mural by local artist Qubek, and collages from the venue’s archives. The design was crafted by Instruct Studio, based in Manchester.

Fiona McGarva, Managing Director of Sundae Communications, remarked, “Band on the Wall is truly iconic. It is our city’s longest-standing venue, and unique not only in its contribution to Manchester’s music history, but also its future, by programming forward-thinking, international acts, every day of the week.” She added that the team at Sundae is honoured to have collaborated on the launch of The Copper Bar and is eager to welcome press, industry professionals, and music enthusiasts to the space that integrates the venue’s historic past with its bright future.

The Copper Bar houses Band on the Wall’s second stage, which became operational as part of the venue’s £3.5 million redevelopment two years ago. Sundae Communications will manage press and industry engagement for the launch.

Gavin Sharp, CEO of Band on the Wall, praised the campaign’s execution, stating, “Throughout the campaign to launch The Copper Bar, the team at Sundae has been amazing. From early brainstorming sessions to final delivery, every aspect of the campaign was considered and well thought through.” He highlighted the shared vision and ambition between Band on the Wall and Sundae Communications, noting their balance of creativity with meticulous attention to detail, which has resulted in exceptional outcomes.

The Copper Bar’s launch signals an exciting development for Band on the Wall, blending historical significance with future aspirations. The collaboration with Sundae Communications has effectively brought this vision to life.
