The Access Group has finalised the acquisition of Edinburgh-based technology firm, QikServe.

This marks a significant expansion for The Access Group in the digital commerce sector, particularly within the hospitality industry.

Founded in 2011, QikServe allows customers to order and pay for items using smartphones, tablets, or self-service terminals. It currently operates in more than 8000 outlets across 40 countries, partnering with well-known brands, including Center Parcs, Merlin, and Hard Rock Cafe.

QikServe and The Access Group have shared a five-year collaboration, delivering top-tier integrated digital ordering solutions for the hospitality industry. This acquisition cements the relationship and capitalises on their collective strengths.

Champa Magesh, Managing Director of Access Hospitality, emphasised that QikServe’s integration brings new capabilities, enhancing their offerings in cafés, quick-service restaurants, hotels, casinos, and resorts. This step aligns with The Access Group’s strategy to build a unified hospitality suite, improving overall guest experiences and business profitability.

The integration of QikServe’s innovative CMS, kiosk solution, connectivity, and data orchestration capabilities is seen as a pivotal move to fortify The Access Group’s foothold in the global market.

Although the financial details of the deal remain undisclosed, Maven Capital Partners, which had invested £3.5 million in 2016, will exit as part of this acquisition.
