A Lincolnshire chartered accountancy firm has completed a merger with a Preston counterpart to establish a new entity: Streets Turner Chartered Accountants.
The merger, involving Streets Chartered Accountants and Turner Accountants, represents the latest in a series of strategic expansions by Streets over the last 18 months. This initiative has culminated in the establishment of more than 26 offices and an increase in fee income to over £35 million.
Founded in 1996 by Mike Turner, Turner Accountants brings substantial experience to this alliance. Turner commented, ‘As with any business, we cannot stand still, and to overcome the challenges we and our clients face, we needed to develop our business. We looked for some time to find a perfect partner to support us and one with which we share mutual values and we believe we have found that in Streets.’ He further added, ‘The merger has also provided an opportunity to promote three valued members of the team—Henry Abell, Lynda Rainford, and Catherine Clifton—to directors. Now that Turners is part of a larger practice, we can confidently promise greater continuity of service to our clients and improved career prospects for our team.’
Clients of the newly formed Streets Turner Chartered Accountants can anticipate an enhanced range of services, including specialist corporate and private client tax planning, banking and finance, international advice, personal financial planning, and a virtual finance office, all while maintaining personal relationships.
Paul Tutin, managing partner of Streets, remarked, ‘In line with our strategy to become a truly UK-wide practice, we are collaborating with several firms looking to join Streets. The merger with Turner Accountants in Preston aligns with our plans to broaden our geographical coverage, providing us with an ideal presence in Lancashire.’
Tutin also highlighted that with several other mergers and acquisitions in the pipeline, Streets remains on track to achieve its target revenue of £40 million by the end of the year. He noted, ‘The profession is experiencing significant consolidation with elevated levels of merger and acquisition activity. Our approach aims to build on the success of merging firms, ensuring we retain and enhance their winning strategies. This method is particularly favoured by those looking for exit routes, growth opportunities, or expanded service offerings.’
The merger between Streets Chartered Accountants and Turner Accountants marks a significant step in their strategic expansion, promising enhanced services and growth opportunities while maintaining strong client relationships.
