Smart cities technology firm Connexin has become an official partner of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership Programme, enhancing the collaborative efforts to drive technological advancement in the North of England.

Connexin, established in Hull, plays a pivotal role within the city’s growing tech sector, which employed over 4,000 individuals and reported a turnover of £568 million in 2017. The firm aims to significantly contribute to the Northern Powerhouse initiative, a government-led campaign to bolster economic growth in the North.

On 4th October, Connexin will host a major event at Hull Bonus Arena, titled ‘Building Smarter Cities’, which aspires to be the leading smart technology event in Northern England. This initiative showcases Connexin’s commitment to advancing smart city technologies and fostering regional development.

Connexin CEO & Founder Furqan Alamgir remarked, ‘Connexin is made in Hull. The North is in our DNA. It feels like a natural fit for us to formally join the Northern Powerhouse through its partnership programme.’ Alamgir emphasised the importance of collaboration among government, the education sector, citizens, and businesses to unlock the North’s potential, stating, ‘The North of England is advancing technologically at pace and it’s a privilege to be part of it.’
