Manchester-based Search Group has announced its acquisition of Henderson Scott, a leader in technology recruitment across both public and private sectors. The move solidifies Search Group’s presence as a major player in the technology recruitment market.
The acquisition positions the newly formed Search Group as the UK’s foremost provider of technology recruitment services. The combined entity now boasts a revenue of £220 million and an EBITDA exceeding £10 million, supported by more than 750 employees across 17 UK offices. This acquisition represents a significant milestone in the group’s growth strategy.
Henderson Scott, founded in 1999 by CEO Mark Bailey, has established itself as a market leader in six core areas: enterprise architecture, IT infrastructure and data centre, enterprise cloud, digital and business transformation, cybersecurity, and software technology. With offices in Amersham and London, the company works with many leading names in technology, employing over 50 staff members who will continue to grow the business under its current brand as part of the Search Group.
Mark Bailey will join the Search Group board, bringing his extensive expertise to the leadership team. The Search Group board believes that the combined strength of both companies provides a unique opportunity for growth, leveraging the group’s expanded service offerings and broader geographic reach.
Grahame Caswell, CEO of Search Group, stated, “This is the first acquisition we have undertaken since our management buyout and refinancing. It significantly enhances our capability in the technology space and gives us real market presence in London. Working alongside our existing tech and transformation verticals, we have some of the best expertise in the technology recruitment sector within our group.”
Henderson Scott has a reputation for exceptional service and a robust network of specialist candidates. The high-performing team has consistently kept pace with innovation, positioning the business well for future growth.
Mark Bailey expressed his enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating, “This is an exciting time for both businesses. I am delighted that Henderson Scott has joined a group with the ambition for growth as well as the infrastructure to continue supporting and developing our service offering and our people. Backed by the scale of the Search Group, including geographical reach and complementary technology expertise, we are very much looking forward to realising our potential as part of the bigger team.”
This strategic acquisition marks a new chapter for both organisations, offering expanded capabilities and market presence in the fast-evolving technology recruitment sector.
