Screen Manchester has announced a new partnership with Warrington & Vale Royal College, an educational institution committed to equipping students with skills, experience, and industry connections necessary to excel in the creative and digital sectors. This partnership is set to offer students unparalleled access to industry professionals and practical experiences, enhancing their pathways to successful careers.

The college, which inaugurated its Advanced Creative & Digital Skills (ACDS) Academy in September 2022, has swiftly developed a robust network of industry collaborators. The inclusion of Screen Manchester in this network will provide students with direct industry contacts, masterclasses with experts, and clear routes to employment following their studies.

Screen Manchester is recognised for its extensive support services for various productions requiring location permissions. Their experienced team has worked on numerous high-profile TV, film, and commercial projects, offering services that include securing permits, maintaining an extensive online locations library, and connecting productions with local crew and suppliers. Some of their recent credits include ‘Peaky Blinders,’ ‘The Crown,’ ‘Morbius,’ ‘A Gentleman in Moscow,’ ‘Fool Me Once,’ ‘Boiling Point,’ ‘Nolly,’ ‘It’s A Sin,’ and ‘Brassic.’

Elli Metcalfe, the Crew and Facilities Manager at Screen Manchester, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, ‘We couldn’t be more delighted than we are to be joining forces with Warrington & Vale Royal College’s Advanced Creative and Digital Skills Academy. At Screen Manchester, one of our major driving forces is opening up the Film and High-End TV Industry to as diverse a talent pool as possible. We know this is how we will future-proof talent in our region. The excellent work being done in Warrington already makes our target more readily achievable, and we can’t wait to bring the world of production to life through direct contact with our wide and varied list of experts who will share their invaluable experience through direct, meaningful, and practical activities.’

Stephanie Doyle, the Business & Partnerships Manager for the college’s ACDS Academy, echoed this enthusiasm, highlighting the array of opportunities that the partnership will offer students across both the Warrington and Winsford campuses. She remarked, ‘The college and Screen Manchester have built a fantastic programme of events for the new academic year, including visits to their Manchester offices and filming locations, masterclasses, and boot camps. The students will also be tasked with a live brief which will culminate in a live production at our Warrington campus, involving students from a variety of curriculum areas. It is incredibly exciting and a fantastic opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in the film industry and learn from real-life industry role models.’

Both Screen Manchester and Warrington & Vale Royal College eagerly anticipate the positive outcomes and numerous success stories that will emerge from this dynamic new partnership.
