Recognising Exceptional Growth in UK Business Tech A Spotlight on Innovators

The UK Business Tech Awards celebrate extraordinary achievements in technology advancement. This year, the focus is on recognising companies that have exhibited remarkable growth and innovation.

The Most Impressive Growth category highlights five exemplary finalists making significant impacts across various sectors. Each company’s forward-thinking strategies and market-leading solutions set them apart.

DJS (UK)

DJS (UK) operates within the financial services sector, specialising in the development of bespoke and innovative software solutions. This dynamic firm, founded in 2012, has grown from just six to sixty-eight employees. The company’s impressive growth trajectory is highlighted by its turnover increase from £11.4m to £18.6m within a year. This achievement stems from a rise in approved applications for PiggyBank, and augmented financial backing from investors, enabling more lending each month.

Relocating from a 4,300 square foot office to a central 11,300 square foot location in Bournemouth further exemplifies DJS (UK)’s expansion. The company’s core philosophy of transparency and positive customer outcomes serves as the driving force behind their continuous development. Maintaining a young and energetic team also contributes significantly to their ongoing success.

e3creative

e3creative, a fully integrated digital agency, excels in blending art and science to craft award-winning digital narratives. Employing 56 full-time staff, the agency anticipates a turnover of £3.6m this year. This follows a 47% increase in turnover to £2.6m last year, demonstrating steady growth since 2014.

The company’s Manchester studio doubled in size with the acquisition of an additional floor. This new space is split into a production floor and a dedicated client service area, which includes collaborative workspaces, event venues, and meeting rooms. e3creative also champions professional development through The Mara Foundation, fostering paid internships and digital education initiatives.

Housekeep

Housekeep is reshaping the £4 billion home cleaning market with an online platform connecting users to cleaners. Initially serving a small clientele with a single cleaner, Housekeep now boasts over 40,000 customers and more than 1,000 cleaners. As the UK’s leading home cleaning service, it has accumulated over 90,000 five-star reviews.

The company employs a ‘mobile-first’ strategy, empowering housekeepers to manage schedules and tasks via their app. This tech-driven approach not only enhances productivity but also improves cleaner earnings. With a staff of over 30, Housekeep forecasts a turnover between £13-14m in 2018. Plans for geographic expansion beyond London are also underway.

SysGroup PLC

SysGroup, specialising in managed IT services, cloud hosting, and technical consultancy, has experienced rapid growth highlighted by six acquisitions over three years. Revenue surged by 45.7% to £10.45 million for the year ending March 31st, 2018, reflecting an organic growth of 21%. This growth underscores SysGroup’s commitment to meeting clients’ strategic IT needs, freeing up resources for optimal efficiency.

Headquartered in Liverpool with additional offices across the UK, SysGroup’s rebranding strategy integrated several subsidiaries under the SysGroup name. This action, coupled with a 168% increase in personnel over two years, cemented its reputation as a leader in the UK cloud hosting and managed services market.

The Technology Group

The Leeds-based Technology Group enhances business communications through advanced technologies, including Voice Over IP and collaborative tools. With installations in 20 countries and over 400 clients, it handles two million minutes of voice communications monthly. Over the past year, turnover increased by 40% to £3.5 million.

After completing its first acquisition in 2017, the organisation saw a considerable boost in both its net profit, from £306k to £530k, and employee numbers, from 18 to 31. Such achievements underscore the company’s commitment to growth and technological innovation.
