The investment is set to enhance their service for patients further. Livingstone emphasised that technology is crucial in transforming not only healthcare but also various other industries, from retail to travel.

Livingstone stated, “Technology has transformed industries from retail and entertainment to travel and leisure, and it is now making a significant and much-needed mark on healthcare.” This mission to improve patient outcomes partners with the NHS to manage repeat prescriptions, delivering a more efficient service for both patients and medical practitioners.

Advanced Dispensing and Patient Education

Pharmacy2U already boasts the UK’s largest and most advanced dispensing hub, capable of managing one million prescription items monthly. This cutting-edge infrastructure ensures they meet customer demand, consistently pushing the boundaries of healthcare innovation.

The company aims to educate patients on harnessing technology to simplify health and medication management. This educational initiative highlights Pharmacy2U’s commitment to improving medicine adherence, which in turn alleviates the pressure on GPs and represents better value for the NHS.

The Role of Leadership

In conjunction with the latest funding, G Square operating partner Ted Smith will join Pharmacy2U’s board of directors as non-executive chairman. Smith brings extensive experience, having started his career as a pharmacist and spending over 20 years at Boots the Chemist, along with holding a position in the Royal Pharmaceutical Society council.

Ted Smith commented on the journey, “I am very excited to be part of this fascinating journey which will impact positively on patient experience and help reduce the strain on the NHS.” His participation promises to guide Pharmacy2U into the next phase of its ambitious expansion.
