Leeds cybersecurity business, Pentest People, has been acquired by The GRC Group for an undisclosed sum. This marks the second acquisition in the cyber security risk management market for The GRC Group in recent months, following their acquisition of Bulletproof Cyber in June.
Pentest People will now join Bulletproof (UK) and Target Defense (USA) in The GRC Group’s newly formed cyber division. Andrew Mason, Founder and Managing Director of Pentest People, expressed satisfaction with the acquisition, stating, “We were delighted to find a new owner for Pentest People that both shares our values and will be able to continue its rapid growth trajectory and focus on innovation.” Mason is optimistic about the extended services they can offer through close collaboration with their new sister company and other businesses within the Group.
The GRC Group, previously a division of Marlowe PLC before being sold to Inflexion in May, is now keen on becoming an international leader in the Governance, Risk, and Compliance market. Alex Dacre, Chief Executive of The GRC Group, remarked, “The addition of Pentest People following our acquisition of Bulletproof in June demonstrates our commitment to becoming an international leader in the Governance, Risk and Compliance market, delivering tech-led compliance to SMEs alongside leading enterprise SaaS point solutions. We look forward to working with the Pentest People team in further accelerating our collective growth.”
Based in Leeds, Pentest People boasts over 1,200 clients, bringing the newly combined cyber division’s client base to more than 3,000 across the UK and USA. Anthony Harvey, Founder and Managing Director of Pentest People, echoed the optimism, stating, “We’re delighted to be joining The GRC Group to continue the development journey of Pentest People. It is clear that GRC is committed to developing outstanding cyber security and that our capabilities will complement the services already offered.”
The acquisition signifies a strategic move by The GRC Group to bolster its position in the cybersecurity market, enhancing its service offerings through the integration of Pentest People. This development is expected to accelerate growth and innovation within the Group’s cyber division.
