Ride Shotgun has strategically bolstered its US footprint through acquiring PIX-US, strengthening its omnichannel capabilities across continents.

Ride Shotgun has made a significant move to expand its operations by acquiring PIX-US, a renowned CGI company located in North Carolina. This acquisition marks the agency’s second in the United States within 2024, following the earlier purchase of Volume Group. By establishing a presence on both the East and West coasts, Ride Shotgun is poised to deliver a comprehensive range of content capabilities across the Atlantic, from photography and video production to CGI, AR/VR, and immersive technologies, for its global clients.

The acquisition of PIX-US has seen Ride Shotgun’s total workforce reach 200, spread across the UK, US, EU, and Asia. Revenue has now surpassed the $20 million mark, reinforcing the company’s robust financial position. PIX-US, a leader in the North American CGI sector, boasts over a decade of experience creating photorealistic content for the retail and consumer brands. This strategic acquisition merges the in-house expertise of Ride Shotgun with PIX-US’s deep-rooted knowledge of the North American market.

Mark Mallinder, CEO of Ride Shotgun, expressed excitement about the collaboration, highlighting the enhanced capabilities brought about by integrating PIX-US with Volume’s team. He stated, “The incredible team from Volume, who already have a strong track record of delivering technology-driven solutions for their US clients, has now been strengthened by PIX-US. PIX has been producing stunning visual content for some great brands, and we are really excited to add our expertise and support to their team.”

Both companies have maintained a longstanding relationship, which will further facilitate a seamless integration. Stewart Fortune, Managing Director of PIX-US, remarked on the synergy between the teams and the expanded service offerings. “Having known the team at Ride Shotgun for quite a few years, this is the perfect opportunity for us to strengthen our current offering. We are already valued for our photorealistic CGI imagery and visualiser tools, and we can now offer creative content strategy and activation as well as broader production solutions to better serve the needs of our customers.”

Joanna South, who joined from Volume and now serves as Senior Vice President of Ride Shotgun US, echoed the sentiment of growth. She pointed toward further North American expansion, indicating a thorough implementation of an end-to-end marketing support offering. In sum, this acquisition not only consolidates Ride Shotgun’s status as a leading player in the creative content sector but also aligns with its strategic objectives of global expansion.

Ride Shotgun’s acquisition of PIX-US marks a pivotal step in its strategic expansion, reinforcing its omnichannel service offering globally.
