Lavery expressed excitement about the future, stating, ‘We are very excited to take on this landmark premises and to secure its future as a high-quality and inclusive live music venue.’ This acquisition aligns with the broader transformation of the Pilgrim Quarter.
ABCA Systems, a Newcastle fire safety and electrical compliance business, has accelerated its growth trajectory through the acquisition of three firms in the North West: Maintec Ltd, AGS Tech Ltd, and HBS Fabrication Northwest Ltd. These acquisitions are expected to add over £10 million to ABCA Systems’ turnover, enhancing its expertise and capabilities in fire and security compliance. South Shields outdoor clothing firm Barbour has launched a new women’s collection as part of its Re-Engineered line, in collaboration with the William Morris gallery. This launch includes pieces inspired by the influential Arts & Crafts designer. Additionally, Barbour has opened a new store in Neal Street, London, reflecting the design aesthetics and history of the brand. Blyth-based offshore logistics firm Harlyn Solutions has secured a major contract to handle the subsea cables for Scotland’s Moray West offshore wind farm. The firm has been tasked by Ocean Winds to provide collection, storage, and emergency preparedness for the wind farm’s inter-array cables. Managing Director Hamish Adamson expressed pride in Harlyn’s reliable problem-solving approach, stating, ‘Our unique problem-solving approach to projects has been picked up and understood by Ocean Winds.’ This long-term contract follows Harlyn’s recent expansions and prior successful projects within the Moray West installation.
