The CEO of an innovative health platform has urged the NHS to embrace more advanced solutions to better empower patients.

Rohit Patni, co-founder of a pioneering platform, emphasised the need for the NHS to adopt more open and progressive approaches. The newly introduced service, aims to streamline health, social care, and wellbeing services, allowing users to concurrently arrange various services, ranging from massages to nutritional consultations.

Patni criticised the NHS’s current stance on patient empowerment, stating, “They keep saying ‘yes, we want to empower people’ – but they aren’t delivering a solution.” He expressed the belief that innovative platforms could bridge this gap, gaining recognition for their potential to effect positive change for patients.

The platform, launching initially in the UK and India, is designed to disrupt outdated systems incompatible with modern mobile applications and integrated payment options. Patni likened the service to a comprehensive marketplace for care services, where users can book multiple services simultaneously. This consolidated booking process allows for a single transaction, which is then distributed to the respective service providers, minus a commission fee.

Patni highlighted the rigorous vetting process for all service providers on the platform, enhancing trust and reliability. For those less familiar with technology, the platform includes features such as ‘friends and family’ options, allowing family members to manage bookings remotely. Additionally, QR codes permit service providers to log in and out of appointments, ensuring accurate records of service delivery.

The platform aims to protect both users and providers, allowing for mutual ratings and ensuring that all involved parties are properly risk-assessed. Services are offered primarily on a SaaS (Software as a Service) basis, with providers paying a monthly fee and transaction costs. Clients, however, will not be charged for using the service.

Patni’s call for the NHS to adopt innovative solutions highlights a crucial step towards more accessible and efficient patient care. Empowering patients through technology-driven platforms could significantly improve service delivery, aligning with modern needs.
