Following its successful launch earlier this spring, VETCH, a central Liverpool fine-dining restaurant, has already garnered national acclaim, receiving two AA rosettes for culinary excellence.
The restaurant, conceived by Liverpool-native chef Dan McGeorge, offers a 26-cover dining experience on Hope Street. VETCH’s menu is defined by seasonally inspired modern British cuisine, enriched with Nordic and Asian flavours. Each dish is crafted using the finest ingredients from small-scale artisan producers located throughout the Northwest, with the aim of showcasing the utmost potential of every element used.
First established in 1956, the AA Rosette scheme is a national programme assessing the quality of food served in restaurants and hotels across the UK. The programme celebrates exceptional cooking at various levels, with awards given to establishments that demonstrate a commitment to high-quality customer experience. AA inspectors embark on annual culinary tours around the country, evaluating restaurants before announcing their Rosette recommendations in January and September.
Historically, the Rosette scheme has honoured superior culinary skills across the nation. Only approximately 10% of UK restaurants meet the high standards necessary to be awarded even one Rosette. The coveted Double Rosette is reserved for those establishments that exhibit exceptionally high standards, emphasising quality ingredients, consistency, and precision in cooking.
