Bury & Bolton based law firm has retained its membership to the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) for the twelfth consecutive year. This achievement underscores the firm’s consistent commitment to excellence in residential conveyancing.
The Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) is a recognised quality standard for firms regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and operating in the residential conveyancing sector. It sets stringent standards for competence and risk management, ensuring that firms provide residential conveyancing advice that meets the high expectations of clients, lenders, and the wider conveyancing community.
Membership in the CQS enhances a firm’s access to lender panels, with accreditation being a prerequisite for panels including those of Nationwide, HSBC UK, Metro Bank, Santander, Yorkshire Bank, and Clydesdale Bank. This scheme mandates the naming of a senior responsible officer, who must undertake an exam prior to the firm’s application for accreditation or reaccreditation each year.
Firms undergo a rigorous initial assessment, compulsory training, and random audits. Additionally, they must maintain a register of plans and policies and document a fraud risk assessment for every file, with enhanced requirements where there is a high risk of fraud.
Lorraine Stratton-Webb, head of residential property, commented: “Excellence is at the very heart of our practice, so it is fantastic to once again retain our CQS status. It marks us out as meeting the very highest of standards and we could not be prouder. I would also like to thank the whole team for their hard work as they are the ones who deliver for our clients every single day.”
This continuous accreditation reflects the firm’s dedication to maintaining superior standards in residential conveyancing, reaffirming their position as a trusted entity in the sector.
