Jane Gaston Leads Net Zero North West

Net Zero North West has appointed Jane Gaston as its new Chief Executive, following the retirement of Ged Barlow. Jane brings over 20 years of experience, focusing on strategic business planning and development in resource management, energy generation, industrial decarbonisation, and net zero initiatives.

In her previous role as Project Lead for the Net Zero North West Cluster Plan Project, Jane managed deliverables from 11 organisations, culminating in a £30bn pipeline of projects aimed at achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2040 in the region. “I am excited to build on the foundation laid by Ged and continue the important work of advancing the region’s net zero objectives,” she remarked.

Cath Ryan Joins Betfred

Warrington-based Betfred has appointed Cath Ryan as the new Head of Brand and Customer Experience. With over 25 years in sport, fashion, and retail, Cath is celebrated for her expertise in revolutionising brands and creating engaging customer experiences.

Cath previously held the position of Head of Brand and Creative at The Pets at Home Group, where she led a significant brand transformation. At Betfred, she aims to elevate the brand’s positioning and foster long-term customer connections. “I’m thrilled to join Betfred and contribute to its ambitious goals,” she said.

SAS Daniels Solicitors Strengthens Team

North West-based SAS Daniels Solicitors has fortified its team with 11 new recruits across its four offices. Notably, Ben Tyer joins the private client team as a partner, specialising in inheritance tax planning, asset protection, mental capacity issues, and probate.

The firm also welcomed Aisha Tanveer and Sarah Hill as conveyancers, and several new conveyancing assistants across its offices. Chief executive Jeremy Orrell stated, “We are thrilled to welcome 11 recruits across our offices. Their expertise will be invaluable in providing our clients with best-in-class service.”

Russell Wright-Turner Expands Role at Zerum

Russell Wright-Turner has become part of the ownership group at the Manchester-based property consultancy Zerum. As a long-standing key figure in the company, he will further lead and expand Zerum’s cost management business as partner.

BDO UK’s new Managing Partner, Mark Shaw, has commenced his role, reaffirming the firm’s commitment to the mid-market sector. Describing the mid-market as the “economic engine” of UK growth, Mark emphasized the impact of mid-sized businesses on regional economies.

MPA Welcomes New Board Directors

The Manchester Publicity Association (MPA) has appointed four new board directors to drive growth: Nicola Marsh of EssenceMediacom North, Charles Reid of Dentsu, Fergus McCallum of TBWAMCR, and John Brocklehurst of Mob Films.
