Manchester’s notable live music venue is launching a new establishment, The Copper Bar, this month, drawing inspiration from iconic New York City jazz venues.

The Copper Bar is set to become a vibrant addition to Manchester’s music scene, embodying elements reminiscent of NYC’s famed jazz venue Zinc Bar. The venue will feature ambient lighting, unique art installations, forward-thinking programming, and free live performances every Friday and Saturday night.

Notably, The Copper Bar showcases an impressive copper bar-top and Brooklyn-themed neon signs. This decor symbolises its partnership with a renowned brewery and reflects the long-standing history of the live music venue, which is celebrated as the oldest of its kind in Manchester.

In addition to its aesthetic appeal, The Copper Bar will house a bespoke hand-painted mural by Manchester artist Qubek. The venue will also display curated collages from its extensive archive, alongside other notable memorabilia.

Crucially, The Copper Bar will include a second stage, established during the venue’s extensive £3.5m redevelopment two years ago. This space will be dedicated to the diverse and creative community fostered by the venue’s experimental content, featuring both local and international artists.

The new branding for The Copper Bar has been developed by a local studio. This team has been working closely with the venue on an ongoing basis since the rebranding initiative launched two years ago.

The interior of The Copper Bar will highlight a notable beer, in partnership with an inclusive initiative.

The Copper Bar promises to be a significant cultural hub, blending Manchester’s rich musical tradition with innovative and inclusive programming inspired by New York City’s legendary jazz bars.
