The largest bespoke office development outside London and the most significant by a North West company is set to redefine the business landscape. This £800 million headquarters near Manchester Airport, spearheaded by a notable online beauty and wellbeing business, is poised to cover an expansive area of nearly a million square feet.
The project encompasses a £650 million, 16.8-acre business campus and an £150 million, 11.6-acre content creation studio, collectively supporting up to 10,000 jobs. Newly released images reveal the massive project’s design, which is expected to commence in early 2019.
Acting on behalf of the project’s initiators, Airport City Manchester’s joint venture partners will undertake the development, in partnership with the creative executive architect Penson. “This development is a landmark for us and a crucial step in our growth,” stated the founder and CEO. “With our continued global expansion, basing our headquarters at Airport City in Manchester is logical due to its global links and access to talent and supply chains worldwide.”
The dual entities, THQ and ICON, reinforce the firm’s status as a significant employer in the UK, with aspirations to attract and retain innovative talent globally. This strategic move is anticipated to enhance the company’s international footprint while cementing its position in the local economic landscape.
This ambitious development underscores a forward-looking approach to business expansion, combining strategic location benefits with an innovative focus. The headquarters’ establishment at Manchester Airport aligns with broader objectives of tapping into global talent and supply networks, marking a pivotal moment for the company’s growth trajectory.
