Hull’s OSL Consulting Engineers has been acquired by the clean energy group D2Zero in an undisclosed deal. The consultancy, known for providing design and consultancy services to the energy industry, will see its team of 100 join the 4,000-strong workforce under the group, which has recently announced its global headquarters in Aberdeen.
The acquisition integrates OSL’s expertise in delivering complex projects globally, which aligns with D2Zero’s focus areas such as hydrogen solutions and carbon capture and storage projects. OSL, founded in 2005, has grown from handling small offshore modification projects and terminal upgrade studies to delivering large multidisciplinary projects.
D2Zero, backed by SCF Partners, includes advanced engineering and fluid transfer specialists Hydrasun. D2Zero’s chairman, Colin Welsh, a partner at SCF, commented, “D2Zero was founded on the premise that by bringing leading and complementary decarbonisation technologies together, under a supportive infrastructure and strong leadership, we could significantly accelerate progress and deliver breakthrough innovations for the energy transition.
