Haydale, an Ammanford-based leader in advanced materials and nanotechnology, has initiated a pilot trial for its groundbreaking underfloor heating system in social housing in Jersey.

In collaboration with Jersey Energy Technologies (JET), Haydale aims to demonstrate the efficiency and efficacy of its proprietary graphene-based heating technology, promising significant reductions in energy costs.

Haydale’s latest endeavour involves deploying its innovative underfloor heating system in Jersey’s social housing sector. The system leverages the exceptional thermal conductivity properties of graphene, a material known for its strength and efficiency. The trial, conducted in partnership with JET, is a critical step towards showcasing the real-world benefits of this advanced technology.

The trial aims to validate these findings under actual conditions, collecting data throughout the winter period. The results, expected early next year, will be pivotal in determining the commercial viability of this heating solution.

Keith Broadbent, CEO of Haydale, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting the system’s ability to provide superior comfort while significantly reducing environmental impact and energy costs.

This initiative aligns with JET’s mission to enhance sustainable living standards across the Channel Islands. Founder George Eves emphasized the potential of Haydale’s technology to set new benchmarks in energy efficiency and comfort standards.

Haydale’s commitment to innovation and sustainability is evident in this project. The company aims to leverage its proprietary technology to offer solutions that are both economically and environmentally beneficial.

Graphene’s unique properties, when optimised through Haydale’s process, show promise in adsorbing carbon dioxide effectively. The development of a prototype device is currently underway, aiming to provide proof of concept for this innovative application.

The Jersey trial represents a significant milestone for Haydale, as it moves from theoretical and laboratory success to real-world application. The outcomes of this trial could pave the way for broader adoption of graphene-based technologies in various sectors, including housing and environmental conservation.

The collaboration between Haydale and JET in Jersey marks a pivotal moment in the advancement of energy-efficient heating technologies.

If successful, this trial could lead to broader implementation of Haydale’s innovative solutions, offering substantial benefits in cost savings, comfort, and environmental sustainability.
