Go.Compare, a leading name in price comparison, has announced a significant move to a new headquarters situated in the heart of Cardiff.

This strategic relocation encompasses more than 15,600 square feet within the prestigious Hodge House building. The firm has committed to a 10-year lease, indicating a long-term investment in the region.

The New Hodge House Headquarters

Go.Compare has secured over 15,600 square feet on the second floor of Hodge House, an iconic eight-storey listed building in Cardiff that spans 110,000 square feet. Landlord L&G has revitalised the property with a substantial investment of £20 million, attracting several distinguished tenants in recent years.

Savills represented Go.Compare in this significant property deal, and they have agreed on a rental rate of approximately £25 per square foot.

Impact on the Cardiff Business Landscape

Commenting on the move, Lee Griffin, CEO of Go.Compare, highlighted the importance of the new location, stating, “We are thrilled to be making Hodge House our permanent home in Cardiff. We are a Welsh company, born and bred, so our new offices based in such a prestigious building in our capital city is great news for the company and our staff.”

John James of Fletcher Morgan acknowledged the significance of Go.Compare’s tenancy, adding, “Go.Compare is the latest high-profile and prestigious business to choose Hodge House as its HQ. The company joins tenants including Ogi, Intelligent Ultrasound, and others.”

Details of the Leasing Agreement

The agreement sees Go.Compare entering a 10-year lease for the prime office space with a rental price set around £25 per square foot.

Besides Go.Compare, Hodge House boasts a selection of other high-profile tenants like Currencycloud, Bute Energy, and Menzies, underscoring its appeal as a business hub in Cardiff.

Significance of Hodge House Refurbishment

Matt Phillips, head of Knight Frank in Cardiff, expressed the importance of this leasing milestone, noting, “This is a significant letting for Cardiff city centre, and phase two of the Hodge House refurbishment is now all let except for around 3,000 square feet. We are confident of further lettings to follow in the near future.”

The landlord’s commitment to modernisation has resulted in high-quality, flexible office spaces within a beautifully restored period building situated in a prime central location.

Benefits for Go.Compare and its Employees

Gary Carver, director of Savills, emphasised the advantages for Go.Compare’s staff, stating, “Go Compare was looking to relocate to a building which provided its staff with an excellent working environment and amenities in a central location. Hodge House provided this and more, and they are delighted with the outcome.”

The comprehensive refurbishment of Hodge House includes an upgraded reception area, atrium, and common spaces, offering tenants a range of fully-fitted suites as well as large, adaptable floor plates.

Future Prospects for Hodge House

Hodge House continues to attract notable businesses due to its modern facilities and strategic location within Cardiff’s vibrant business district.

With only about 3,000 square feet of space remaining, the building is nearly fully occupied, reflecting its desirability among leading companies.

Conclusion of the Agreement

The leasing agreement, facilitated by the efforts of Fletcher Morgan and Knight Frank as joint marketing agents for the landlord, marks a significant chapter for Go.Compare’s operational strategy.

This move not only enhances the company’s presence in Cardiff but also aligns with its goals of providing an exceptional working environment for its employees.

Go.Compare’s relocation to Hodge House signifies a well-planned strategic decision, benefiting both the company and its staff.
