Formby Manor Care Centre recently celebrated its fifth anniversary with a 1950s-themed party. The event highlighted the home’s importance to the community and provided a joyous occasion for residents and staff alike.

Formby Manor Care Centre, located on Liverpool Road in Formby, recently marked its fifth anniversary with a 1950s-themed celebration. Officially opened in November 2019 by Councillor June Burns, the £15 million facility has established itself as a key part of the local community over the past five years.
The milestone was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Residents and staff donned 1950s attire such as swing dresses and pencil skirts. The care centre was decorated with props from the era, including glasses and neck scarves, which added to the fun. The best-dressed competition was a significant attraction, with Team Leader Debbie Casey winning for her outstanding accessories.
Hospitality staff ensured that everyone enjoyed drinks on arrival and a delicious buffet. The day featured speeches and music, creating a lively and joyous atmosphere. Home manager Nikki Foster noted, “Being able to celebrate our fifth birthday with the residents and their loved ones has been such a great day for all staff at Formby Manor.”
Residents also shared their delight. Anne Bowness said, “I thought it lived up to expectations. We were all so excited. I enjoyed dancing with everyone plus the food and drinks were lovely.” Beryl Condon added, “I thought the party was great. I loved the singer as she sang old songs from when I was younger, so they brought back memories.”
