Fitness First Expands with Strategic Acquisition in London

Fitness First is poised to fortify its presence in the bustling heart of London with the acquisition of its 28th site, a club in Marylebone.

After purchasing the well-positioned facility from PureGym, extensive refurbishment plans amounting to £1 million are set to redefine the club’s atmosphere, promising an elevated fitness experience.

The Marylebone club, nestled strategically between Great Portland Street and Baker Street stations, is set to undergo a significant transformation. Fitness First’s vision includes integrating signature advanced equipment and creating expansive strength and conditioning zones. With an emphasis on quality, the refurbished site aims to offer a refreshing fitness experience, appealing to a wide array of members.

The refurbishment not only focuses on physical space improvement but also on broadening the variety of fitness classes available. Renowned for their diverse class offerings, Fitness First plans to include Spin, Yoga, HIIT, and Pilates classes in the new facility.

Like-for-like membership at Fitness First has seen a rise by seven per cent in the recent financial year, which signals a positive market reception to their growth strategies.

Justin Musgrove, CEO of Fitness First, emphasised his enthusiasm about the site, stating, “We are thrilled to announce the acquisition of our 28th club, especially in such a prestigious location as Marylebone.”

Fitness First continues to prioritise high-quality service, aiming to meet the wellness needs of an increasing membership base.

The strategic rebranding and refurbishment accentuate the company’s commitment to delivering top-tier fitness services in key urban locations.

The Marylebone club is poised to become a flagship location, showcasing Fitness First’s dedication to excellence and innovation.

The acquisition and refurbishment of the Marylebone club signify Fitness First’s robust strategy to advance and evolve within London’s fitness landscape.

As the club prepares to open its doors in January 2025, it stands as a testament to the company’s unwavering commitment to quality and growth.
