first delivery of airbus a321neo to dutch national carrier business manchester

In a significant step towards fleet modernisation, Dutch national carrier KLM has taken delivery of its first Airbus A321neo aircraft. This development marks KLM’s integration into the community of successful A321neo operators, underscoring its commitment to innovation and environmental sustainability.

Manufactured by Airbus, the A321neo boasts advanced technology that significantly reduces noise levels during take-off, approach, and landing, contributing to a lower noise footprint. This addition is a strategic move aligned with KLM’s environmental goals, as the aircraft offers advanced fuel efficiency.

The newly delivered A321neo accommodates 227 passengers in a two-class layout and is equipped with the Airspace cabin, which features XL bins providing 60% more luggage capacity. Passengers can also benefit from USB-C ports at every seat and the latest lighting system designed to enhance the overall travel experience.

As the largest member of the A320neo family, the A321neo is celebrated for its unparalleled range and performance. It is equipped with sharklets and new generation CFM International LEAP-1A engines, which collectively achieve a 50% noise footprint reduction and at least 20% fuel and CO₂ savings compared to previous generation single-aisle aircraft. This ensures maximum passenger comfort within the widest single-aisle cabin in the sky.

To date, over 6,400 A321neo aircraft have been ordered by more than 90 customers globally. Additionally, these aircraft can currently operate with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), with Airbus targeting 100% SAF capability by 2030.

The delivery of the first Airbus A321neo aircraft to KLM represents a forward-thinking approach to aviation, combining cutting-edge technology with a commitment to sustainability. This significant milestone in KLM’s fleet modernisation affirms its dedication to reducing environmental impact while enhancing passenger experience.
