Third Equation, a leader in sustainable energy solutions, has strategically relocated its headquarters to Alderley Park in Cheshire, marking a significant move in the energy tech sector.

Third Equation, an IP-led company renowned for its grid-enhancing technology, has moved its UK headquarters from Edinburgh to Alderley Park, Cheshire. The new HQ encompasses 6,400 sq ft of premium lab and office space, reflecting the company’s growth and its pivotal role in the energy sector. This relocation not only highlights Alderley Park as a hub for green tech but also underscores Third Equation’s strategic expansion and innovative prowess.

The facility at Alderley Park boasts a cutting-edge laboratory equipped with a 1 MW enabled connection. This advanced setup is crucial for demonstrating Third Equation’s capabilities and innovations to potential clients and investors. By moving to this tailor-made space, the company aims to facilitate better collaboration and offer a practical environment to showcase its technology solutions.

Third Equation specialises in sustainable energy grid management, focusing on enhancing the efficiency, capacity, and sustainability of power distribution across the UK. In response to the increasing demand for electrical energy, the company’s innovative solutions address the critical need for augmenting power capacity in the national grid network. These advancements support the UK’s commitment to transitioning towards a net-zero future by improving grid reliability and service quality to consumers.

Prior to the completion of its bespoke headquarters, Third Equation operated from a temporary lab within Alderley Park, enabling the recruitment of local talent and establishing a solid foundation in the North West. The vibrant ecosystem at Alderley Park comprises over 250 businesses specialising in science, technology, and innovation, facilitating numerous partnership opportunities.

Greg Dujon, CEO of Third Equation, emphasised the rigorous selection process for the new location, stating, “During our strategic review, we sought to optimise every aspect of our business, including location. We created detailed criteria, focusing on key factors such as grid connectivity, access to talent, proximity to customers, transport links, sustainability, and a great working environment.” Alderley Park surpassed expectations, offering essential infrastructure and community benefits.
