Eat My Logo, a bakery based in Chorley, has recently acquired an Oxford-based personalised chocolate business to enhance its product offerings. The acquisition includes production operations, trading channels, and intellectual property.

The newly acquired business, previously operating under the Cocoapod brand, specialised in consumer-personalised gifts. This strategic move aims to integrate Cocoapod’s unique chocolate products into Eat My Logo’s existing range, ultimately expanding the variety of offerings available to their customers. The production has been relocated to a custom-built facility within Eat My Logo’s bakery.

Andrew Poar, co-founder of Eat My Logo, expressed enthusiasm regarding the acquisition, recognising its potential to strengthen their chocolate offerings and provide customers with greater choice. Poar noted, ‘We are thrilled to incorporate the excellent Cocoapod brand into our business. This acquisition strengthens our chocolate offerings and provides our customers with more variety. We have ambitious plans for the brand in the coming months and into next year.’

Eat My Logo, established a decade ago by Andrew and Ruth Poar, has seen rapid growth since its inception. Initially started as a side project to Ruth’s high street celebration cake business, the company now operates out of a 10,000 sq ft facility in Chorley, employing a team of 20 specialists. Each week, the bakery produces, packs, and ships tens of thousands of edible branded cakes, biscuits, and confectionery to businesses across the UK, with order volumes ranging from a few units to hundreds of thousands.

The shift of Cocoapod production to Chorley has not only streamlined operations but also created two new jobs with further expansions anticipated. This development positions Eat My Logo to better serve its clientele with an enriched product portfolio while fostering local employment opportunities.

The acquisition of the personalised chocolate business marks a significant milestone for Eat My Logo, reinforcing its commitment to growth and product diversification. With plans to introduce enhanced Cocoapod offerings by early 2025, the company is poised to solidify its position in the market.
