Dr Michele Lawty-Jones has been instrumental in shaping the skills landscape in Lancashire since assuming the role of Director of the Lancashire Skills Hub in August 2015.

In her capacity as Director, Dr Michele Lawty-Jones oversees the development and implementation of the Lancashire Skills and Employment Strategic Framework. This critical initiative is aligned with the Lancashire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Skills and Employment Board, aimed at enhancing the region’s economic regeneration and business growth through skilled, engaged, and productive individuals.

Prior to her current role, Dr Lawty-Jones served as Head of Enterprise and Innovation at the University of Cumbria. There, she was pivotal in driving forward themes related to the Regional Economic Strategy. Earlier, she held the position of Head of Skills and Education at the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), where her contributions were key to two central themes of the regional economic strategy. Her extensive experience also includes her role as Partnerships Director at Connexions Lancashire.
