Nineteen pioneering healthtech companies have been selected for the latest Propel@YH accelerator programme. This initiative aims to integrate innovative solutions within the NHS, enhancing healthcare delivery.
In its sixth year, the programme, spearheaded by Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber, has gained prominence for bringing forward-thinking technologies to the healthcare sector.
The Chosen Innovators
17 of the selected start-ups hail from the Yorkshire region. This diverse group includes companies developing a device to support individuals with endometriosis, a platform utilising technology to predict heart failure, a support tool aiding autistic children, and a digital health coach empowering older adults to self-care at home.
The cohort of companies includes: Aire Innovate Ltd, Fix Your Future Ltd, MiiCare, Healthlinx, Med Frontier, Asclepius MedTech Ltd, ibox Healthcare, PD2X, Accessercise, OSHI, Third Age Therapeutics, Spectrum Tailored Technologies, Agenly AI, Get into Gear, Strolll, My Amber, Carly Walter Wellbeing, ASAP Analgesia, and QDR Health.
Programme Support and Benefits
According to Dr Neville Young, Director of Enterprise and Innovation at Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber, the programme offers an excellent opportunity for SMEs to receive expert advice and guidance. This support assists them in navigating the NHS market, increasing their regional presence, and disseminating their innovations.

Funding and Partnerships
The programme is partially funded by the UK Government through Leeds City Council’s Innovation@Leeds programme. The initiative supports innovation-driven businesses via the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in collaboration with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
Leeds City Council’s contribution enabled the programme to support an additional eight innovators this year. Their backing has been crucial in expanding the reach and impact of the Propel@YH initiative.

Starting today, the chosen companies will receive support from an array of partners. These partners include Hill Dickinson, Nexus at the University of Leeds, Barclays Eagle Labs, and Leeds Teaching Hospitals Innovation Pop Up. Additional partners such as Par Equity, West Yorkshire Combined Authority, Leeds City Council, Digisafe, and Acorn Compliance will also contribute to the accelerator programme. Their involvement ensures that the innovators receive a well-rounded support network.
