Creamline Dairies is set to broaden its reach across the North West through a significant acquisition involving three depots.

This strategic move promises to enhance its operational capacity and service offerings.

Trafford Park’s Creamline Dairies is poised to broaden its influence across the North West through a pivotal acquisition. This six-figure deal promises to secure critical distribution sites, integrating Liverpool’s Mortons Dairies’ operations. The acquisition, expected to finalise next month, will see Creamline absorb three depots, enhancing its operational capacity significantly.

The planned integration of Mortons’ assets involves the incorporation of 56 staff members and four franchisees into the Creamline framework. This strategic move will potentially service 15,000 additional doorsteps and over 450 businesses. Such a bold expansion is anticipated to increase Creamline’s annual turnover to approximately £45 million.

Building on Mortons’ established network, Creamline looks to incorporate areas like Chester and the Wirral into its delivery territory. This effort reinforces its foothold in Manchester, the M60 belt, and East Cheshire.

The newly acquired depots will include additional service areas such as Ashton in Makerfield, alongside Chester and the Wirral. These additions are set to complement existing operations in Trafford, Eccles, Warrington, Kendal, and Stockport.

Since 1994, Creamline has maintained its identity as a family-run enterprise.

Under the leadership of brothers-in-law Chris Swallow and Rob Purvis, the company has evolved from a modest operation into a regional powerhouse boasting a 310-strong workforce.

The sustained growth marks Creamline’s ongoing commitment to quality and service, with acquisition strategies serving as a cornerstone of its business model.

Acquisitions have been instrumental in Creamline’s journey towards success. A decade ago, the purchase of Dairy Crest’s North West depot-based milk delivery business for £1.15m proved a decisive move.

The benefits of this transaction were evident in the successful customer transfers and the subsequent growth in Creamline’s customer base.

This previous acquisition set a precedent for strategic growth, demonstrating Creamline’s capability to absorb and expand new operations efficiently.

Creamline prides itself on its commitment to service, product quality, and profitability.

The company’s mission is to become Britain’s foremost independent dairy, providing unmatched service levels.

Chris Swallow has articulated how aligning with partners that share Creamline’s values augments their ability to deliver exceptional service to both businesses and consumers.

In keeping pace with digital advancements, Creamline plans to launch a business-to-business online service.

The development of a consumer-centric app aims to streamline the customer experience, ensuring ease of access to Creamline’s range of products.

This digital evolution is set to broaden the company’s market reach, offering consumers and businesses innovative ways to interact with Creamline’s offerings.

Creamline Dairies’ strategic acquisition stands to significantly bolster its presence in the North West.

By integrating Mortons Dairies, Creamline is set to deliver enhanced services and product offerings.
