Technology solutions provider Chess ICT has acquired TMS, an independent expert in billing solutions, hosted voice, and data connectivity solutions for IT and telecoms suppliers. This acquisition introduces a variety of voice and data solutions, strengthening Chess’s partner focus.
The acquisition of TMS brings a secure and scalable managed billing solution, a highly experienced WLR3 integration team, and a network of over 100 channel partners and resellers to Chess. The existing TMS team, including operations director Helen Booker, will remain in place.
David Pollock, Chess founder and CEO, expressed his admiration for TMS, noting that the aspiration to acquire TMS had been longstanding due to its experience and reputation, which will enhance relationships with their partners. He stated, “We look forward to working with Helen, the TMS people & partners and very much welcome them to the Chess family.”
With this acquisition, Chess reaffirms its commitment to its partners by providing access to an out-of-the-box managed billing platform and WLR3 centre of excellence, renowned for providing outstanding service. This move aligns with Chess’s history of seeking acquisitions to enhance its product portfolio and augment its team with new skills and expertise.
Suzanne Chappell, chairman and founder of TMS, announced her retirement following the acquisition to embark on a new sailing adventure. She remarked, “The next stage of TMS’s journey is going to be exciting as part of team Chess. I know that our senior management and team members will thrive as part of Chess, with its greater scale in sales and support and award-winning workplace ethos.”
