Channel 4 is set to significantly increase its regional impact in Manchester and beyond.

Channel 4 is poised to substantially enhance its presence outside the capital, marking nearly five years of regional expansion. This forward-thinking initiative aims to create 600 roles across the UK, highlighting Channel 4’s commitment to nationwide representation.

In a bid to decentralise recruitment, all new positions will be advertised actively across Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, and Glasgow. This regional focus underscores Channel 4’s ongoing dedication to fostering talent and production outside of London.

The introduction of a relocation and financial support package is designed to facilitate the movement of London-based employees to other regional offices. This move is anticipated to bolster Channel 4’s regional operations, allowing employees to engage more deeply with diverse communities across the UK.

A notable highlight of Channel 4’s expansion is the anticipated opening of a new office at No. 1 St Michael’s in Manchester during summer 2025. This development will more than double the broadcaster’s footprint in the city, thereby strengthening its strategic regional operations.

Channel 4’s Fast Forward strategy seeks to reinforce its role as a leading national broadcaster. As articulated by Chief Executive Alex Mahon, the initiative offers a unique opportunity to enhance the broadcaster’s presence throughout the UK, reflecting its long-standing ethos of bold and creative content development.

Channel 4’s strategic regional expansion underscores its enduring commitment to representing and engaging with audiences across the UK.
