Northern Lights Group will manage a cocktail bar and four food kiosks, leased to small businesses. As one of the region’s largest independent hospitality groups, their involvement signifies a substantial boost to Preston’s economy. “This is another incredibly exciting opportunity for us,” stated Joe Foster from Northern Lights Group. Construction and Progress
The construction at Animate is progressing well under Eric Wright Construction. Brickwork is nearly complete, tenterhook panels are installed, and most glass panelling is in place.
Development is on track for an autumn completion, allowing tenants to begin fit-outs and furnishings. Animate aims to launch in early 2025.
Broader Regeneration Efforts
Animate is part of six major projects in Preston’s Harris Quarter Towns Fund Investment Programme. Deputy leader Cllr Martyn Rawlinson shared the council’s vision for the site to host both independent and national brands for a resilient economy. His expressed ambition targets an appealing offer for Preston and wider Lancashire while aiding social and economic regeneration.
Northern Lights Group will manage the bar but is keen on recruiting local operators for food outlets. Their ongoing support for start-ups and local businesses aligns with the council’s community wealth building initiatives. This includes training and support for new kiosk operators within the Food Halls.
