Additional Flights for Football Fans to European Matches

Extra flight capacity has been introduced to facilitate North West football fans in supporting their teams at European fixtures this season. These additional flights come in response to the high demand following the draws for the early stages of the Champions League and Europa League.

Ahead of the Sky Blues’ match against Slovan Bratislava, a flight from Manchester to Vienna has been scheduled for Monday, 30th September. This allows Manchester City supporters to reach Bratislava efficiently, given the limited available flying options.

Similarly, Liverpool supporters can access Girona via a flight from Manchester to Barcelona, departing on Monday, 9th December. Following their match, an additional return flight from Barcelona to Manchester has been arranged for Wednesday, 11th December.

Manchester United fans are also catered for with extra flights. An additional flight to Porto is set for Wednesday, 2nd October, ahead of their game the following day, with a return flight on Friday, 4th October. Furthermore, ahead of the FC Viktoria Plen match on 12th December, a flight from Manchester to Prague on Wednesday, 11th December, has been arranged, with a return flight the day after the game.

A spokesperson remarked, ‘There has been a lot of demand for more flights to and from these big European fixtures, so we have acted quickly to give fans even more choice.’

This initiative provides football supporters with more travel options, ensuring they can follow their teams across Europe with greater ease, meeting the increasing demand and facilitating the fan experience.

The introduction of these additional flights underscores the commitment to accommodating football supporters as they journey to support their teams in European competitions. This move is expected to be well received by fans of Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool.
