Esteem Care Holdings, a prominent home care provider based in Manchester, has been acquired by Grosvenor Health and Social Care in a multimillion-pound deal. The strategic acquisition aims to enhance the quality and reach of home care services across the United Kingdom, signifying a considerable shift in the UK’s home care industry.

Esteem Care Holdings, noted for its commitment to personalised care, provides over 7,150 care hours weekly to 620 clients through a dedicated team of 250 care staff. With branches in Manchester, Leeds, Carlisle, Kendal, Dumfries, and Stranraer, the organisation focuses on eliminating loneliness, promoting good nutrition, and enhancing safety at home.

Dr Sayani Sainudeen, founding partner and investment director of Y1 Capital, the parent company of Esteem Care, emphasised that the acquisition ensures the continuation of top-tier, compassionate care while benefiting from Grosvenor’s expansive resources and expertise. “This acquisition ensures that our clients will continue to receive top-tier, compassionate care while benefiting from Grosvenor’s expansive resources and expertise,” said Dr Sainudeen.

Tony Veverka, the CEO for Esteem and Y1 Capital, echoed this sentiment, stating that joining Grosvenor represents a strategic step towards growth and enhanced service delivery for their clients. “Joining Grosvenor is a strategic step that promises growth and enhanced service delivery for our clients,” Veverka remarked.

Esteem Care was formed through a series of acquisitions led by Y1 Capital. The initial acquisition was Guardian Response, based in Dumfries, in 2015, followed by Cumbria View Care Services, based in Kendal, in 2018. This was succeeded by the acquisition of Able Care and Support Services and Vive UK Social Care in 2020. The group was rebranded as Esteem in 2023 under the leadership of Tony Veverka.

Lee Peach, representing Grosvenor Health and Social Care, commended Esteem Care’s dedication to personalised, high-quality care, which aligns perfectly with Grosvenor’s vision. “Esteem Care’s dedication to personalised, high quality care is a perfect fit for our vision. We are excited to integrate its exceptional service model and staff into our operations, ensuring continuity and expansion of the outstanding care Esteem is known for,” Lee Peach stated.

With the completion of this acquisition, Dr Sainudeen and Tony Veverka will now allocate more of their time to their healthcare operation, Transform Healthcare, which is renowned as the UK’s largest provider of cosmetic and bariatric surgery. Additionally, Dr Sainudeen has called on the new Labour Government to increase investment in social care, highlighting the current state of the sector.

The multimillion-pound acquisition of Esteem Care by Grosvenor Health and Social Care marks a significant development in the UK’s home care industry. It promises enhanced service delivery through expanded resources and a continued commitment to high-quality, personalised care.
