Accountancy and business advisory firm MHA has significantly increased its Manchester office footprint due to substantial growth in client work and staffing.
The firm has acquired an additional 3,200 sq ft of space at its 80 Mosley Street location, now occupying almost 5,500 sq ft within the building.
Sustained National Growth
MHA’s nationwide growth is noteworthy. The firm recently reported record financial results for July, thanks to increased demand for its advisory services. Additionally, numerous new appointments have been made over the past year, bolstering the firm’s capabilities across the board.
The Manchester office, in particular, has seen a marked expansion, driven by the success of MHA’s corporate finance, specialist tax, and audit teams. These teams have been pivotal in attracting new clients and offering comprehensive advisory services.
Key Contributors to Growth
Andrew Feeke, partner at the Manchester office and head of the corporate finance team, highlighted the importance of recruiting exceptional talent across service lines. Feeke stated, “In the five years since we opened our Manchester office, we’ve seen steady and sustained growth across all our service areas and many new colleagues joining our team.”
Feeke further elaborated on how the merger with MHA has enhanced their national and international reach, giving clients access to specialised expertise. This strategic alignment has been essential for scaling the firm’s operations and meeting clients’ ambitious growth objectives.
Recent Appointments and Their Impact
MHA has recently welcomed several senior professionals to its Manchester office, catalysing further growth.
Among the notable appointments are audit partners Russell Cooper, Lee Van Houplines, and Lindsey Shepherd; corporate finance team partners Rob Richardson and Rob Dawes; technical partner Chris Greenhalgh; and Jimmy Davies, director in the specialist VAT and indirect taxation team. These additions bring a wealth of experience and specialised skills to the firm.
Graham Gordon, regional chair of MHA in the North West, commended the leadership team in Manchester. He remarked, “Andy and the leadership team in Manchester have done a phenomenal job in growing a very rounded team of specialist advisors. Our ability to leverage global expertise for the benefit of our clients has been key to our own growth.”
Environmentally Conscious Office Expansion
The expansion of the Manchester office has been complemented by a significant refurbishment project, undertaken by fit-out specialist Claremont. This refurbishment was designed with sustainability in mind.
The project diverted 98% of waste from landfill, contributing 428 kilograms of floor tiles to the ReStart programme and saving more than half a tonne of CO2 emissions. Such environmentally conscious efforts are in line with MHA’s commitment to sustainability and corporate responsibility.
Regional and National Presence
MHA’s presence extends beyond Manchester, with 22 offices across the UK, including six in the North West cities of Liverpool, Preston, and Lancaster. This extensive network enables MHA to serve a wide array of clients, offering localised expertise backed by national and international resources.
The firm’s robust regional presence ensures that clients receive personalised services tailored to local market conditions, while also benefiting from the comprehensive resources of a national firm. This dual advantage has been crucial for MHA’s sustained growth and client satisfaction.
The Manchester office’s strategic location at 80 Mosley Street, overlooking St Peter’s Square, positions MHA advantageously within the city’s business hub. This locale not only enhances the firm’s visibility but also provides clients with easy access to MHA’s specialised advisory services.
Client-Centric Approach
MHA’s growth can be attributed to its client-centric approach, focusing on delivering specialised advice that unlocks growth potential for its clients. This strategy has resonated well with businesses seeking comprehensive and tailored advisory services.
The firm’s ability to attract and retain clients has been strengthened by its commitment to recruiting outstanding professionals and leveraging their expertise. MHA’s emphasis on understanding and addressing client needs has fostered long-term relationships and driven mutual growth.
Future Prospects
Looking ahead, MHA is poised for continued expansion, building on its solid foundation of strong financial performance and strategic growth initiatives. The firm is well-positioned to capitalise on emerging opportunities and navigate the evolving business landscape.
The leadership team at MHA remains committed to sustaining the firm’s upward trajectory, with a focus on innovation, client service excellence, and strategic regional and national expansions.
MHA’s significant growth trajectory, both in terms of client base and office space, underscores the firm’s success in delivering specialised advisory services.
With continued strategic expansions and a commitment to sustainability, MHA is set to further enhance its presence and impact in the professional services sector.
