A chartered surveying practice has launched a new office in Birmingham, establishing a presence in the city’s business district.
Proximity has appointed Robert Rankine as the associate director to lead the new setup at the Arca building located in Temple Row. Rankine, recruited from AA Projects, brings extensive expertise to the new role.
Founded in 2022 by Mike Scanlan and Tom Kibblewhite, Proximity is headquartered in Altrincham, Greater Manchester. The firm collaborates with developers on property projects across the United Kingdom. Their focus lies in identifying and mitigating risks associated with rights of light, party walls, daylight, sunlight, and solar glare amenity impacts. Among its notable clients are HBD, Moda, and Property Alliance Group.
Mike Scanlan stated, ‘Since launching Proximity in 2022, we have always been ambitious about our growth. Our expansion into Birmingham is a key part of that wider strategy. While Tom and I are based in Manchester, we advise on developments across the country so the new Birmingham office provides a more central base while bringing us closer to new opportunities in the city.’ He described the expansion as an ‘exciting time for the business.’
Proximity’s move into Birmingham is a strategic development aimed at enhancing its geographical footprint and engaging with new client opportunities in the Midlands. The central location is expected to play a pivotal role in supporting the company’s ongoing growth ambitions.
With this expansion, Proximity is poised to strengthen its national presence and explore new opportunities within the West Midlands, driven by a commitment to delivering expert surveying services.
