Mountain Warehouse, a prominent UK outdoor retailer, is poised to make a significant entry into Greater Manchester with the opening of a new 20,710 sq ft store in Altrincham’s Stamford Quarter. This move, scheduled for autumn, will bring 13 new retail jobs to the area.
The new store will offer a comprehensive range of outdoor clothing, footwear, equipment, and kidswear, including essential items such as rain jackets, walking boots, and ski wear. Positioned in a prime location within Altrincham, this store represents Mountain Warehouse’s first major foray into the Greater Manchester market. This development is expected to enhance the retail options available to both local residents and visitors.
The Stamford Quarter, known for its vibrant mix of independent stores and popular brands, will now include Mountain Warehouse among its tenants. Other notable retailers in the area include Parasol, Utility, Holland Barrett, Gift & Home, Next, Boots, Flannels, Sostrene Grene, and Nationwide.
James Tootle, Head of Retail and Leisure at Bruntwood, expressed his enthusiasm about the new addition, stating, “The arrival of Mountain Warehouse is a great addition to the Stamford Quarter and Greater Manchester and perfectly complements the existing retailers in the area.”
Cllr Liz Patel, Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration at Trafford Council, also welcomed the development, commenting, “I’m thrilled Mountain Warehouse, another high profile business, has chosen Altrincham’s Stamford Quarter as their new home. Mountain Warehouse joins the growing roster of businesses taking up residence in the Stamford Quarter, joining names like Lane 7, Starbucks and Nell’s Pizza. The range of businesses in the area makes it a dynamic retail and leisure hub to be enjoyed by visitors and residents of Altrincham alike.”
The opening of Mountain Warehouse’s store in Altrincham’s Stamford Quarter is set to bolster the local economy, providing employment opportunities and enhancing the area’s retail landscape. This strategic move signifies a positive development for the community, promising a dynamic shopping experience for all.
