The integration of a new widget on a prominent theatre website is set to transform how audiences discover and purchase theatre tickets.
Events search engine TickX has formed a partnership with The Stage, an esteemed news and service platform for theatre, entertainment, and performance art. This collaboration sees the integration of the TickX widget onto The Stage website, displaying ticket availability and price comparisons for relevant performances, plays, and events nationwide.
Founded in 1880, The Stage is revered as the world’s oldest and most prominent theatre publication. It offers a varied range of news, reviews, opinions, features, and advertising directed at theatre professionals and enthusiasts. The addition of the TickX widget allows theatre-goers to read about shows and find ticket price comparisons in one convenient place.
By pulling results from more than 75 ticket-selling platforms, including ATG, London Theatre Direct, See Tickets, and The Stage’s own ticketing service, TickX aims to create an ecosystem that seamlessly connects theatre fans with a broad network of ticketing providers, venues, and publicists. Theatre fans are expected to benefit significantly from this integration.
Steve Pearce, TickX co-founder and CEO, commented on the partnership, stating, “We’re delighted to enter into this partnership with The Stage, one of the most influential brands in the world of theatre. This collaboration will enable us to instantly connect millions of theatre fans with an array of ticket sellers and venues throughout the country. The project has tremendous potential and we are excited to be promoting our West End ticketing partners and regional venues alike. We look forward to growing this relationship and will continue to drive ticket sales for the world of performing arts.”
Simon Hassell, commercial director at The Stage, added, “The Stage prides itself on its depth and breadth of reviewing across the UK. We’re delighted to partner with TickX to make our reviews even more valuable to our readers.”
This partnership underscores TickX’s intentions to create a more connected theatre ecosystem. In addition to theatre, TickX also enables users to find and purchase tickets for over 125,000 events, attractions, and films. The platform recently launched a cinema offering, connecting users with every cinema and picture house in the UK.
TickX is accessible to users across the UK, Ireland, Spain, and Holland, either online or via the TickX app, with plans for further European expansion on the horizon.
This integration is set to revolutionise the way theatre lovers engage with performances, offering a streamlined ticket-purchasing experience.
