Manchester’s non-profit Turing Innovation Catalyst has initiated its second AI accelerator programme, welcoming a new cohort of startups aimed at expanding the city’s digital economy.
The programme, in collaboration with Capital Enterprise, is designed to help these startups establish sustainable businesses and meet their fundraising targets. Participants will benefit from mentoring, networking, and investment opportunities provided by leading AI and startup specialists.
The programme spans six months and offers a hybrid model that includes training on funding readiness, storytelling to non-technical audiences, AI ethics, regulatory guidance, go-to-market strategies, and founder and team wellbeing. The current cohort comprises 20 startups, all either based in Greater Manchester or committed to contributing to the local economy. Their AI projects address various sectors, including education, healthcare, and climate.
Among the participating startups are GigMate, an app for music enthusiasts; LinkyThinks, a platform to enhance children’s skills beyond the classroom; miPatient, a tool for early detection of opioid addiction; and CircKit, a solution for ESG data and compliance in fashion.
Liz Scott MBE, Executive Director at Turing Innovation Catalyst, expressed enthusiasm about the new cohort and the accelerator’s role in fostering a thriving AI ecosystem in Greater Manchester. ‘We’re delighted to kick off the second cohort of our AI accelerator programme with Capital Enterprise.
