A website set up to publicise the much-hyped reunion tour of Mancunian rockers Oasis crashed this morning after the band confirmed swirling rumours of an imminent reunion.
The Oasisnet.com website was reported as down this morning, while music streaming site Spotify observed a significant 160% spike in streaming globally over a two-hour period on Monday compared with the previous week as rumours of the reunion gained traction.
This morning, Tuesday 27 August, Oasis ended years of feverish speculation with the confirmation of a long awaited run of UK and Ireland shows, forming the domestic leg of their OASIS LIVE ’25 world tour. Oasis will perform in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin in the summer of 2025. These will be their only shows in Europe next year, likely making it one of the most significant live events of the decade.
The band commented, “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.” Liam Gallagher further emphasized the sentiment with a similar post on his social media.
Oasis will play at Cardiff Principality Stadium on 4th and 5th July, Manchester Heaton Park on 11th, 12th, 19th, and 20th July, London Wembley Stadium on 25th, 26th July and 2nd, 3rd August, Edinburgh Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium on 8th, 9th August, and Dublin Croke Park on 16th, 17th August. Plans are also underway for the OASIS LIVE ’25 tour to extend to other continents outside Europe later next year.
Manchester promoters SJM Concerts and multinational musical behemoth Live Nation, which owns Ticketmaster, are among the promoters of the tour. Both organisations have previously been heavily involved with the Parklife Festival in Manchester’s Heaton Park, where Oasis will play four dates next July. Live Nation recently acquired the Parklife Festival alongside the Warehouse Project clubbing brand.
Liam Gallagher had appeared to confirm the rumours during his set at the Reading Festival over the weekend. Closing his 90-minute performance, adorned with Manchester City iconography, Liam addressed the crowd saying, “Let’s give the people what they want!” Simultaneously, signs flashed on the stage screens displaying “27/08/24 – 8am” in the classic font used for the Oasis logo, while his brother Noel, aged 57, tweeted the same image from his social media accounts, thereby confirming the news.
Tickets for the UK dates are scheduled to go on sale from 9am on Saturday, 31st August and will be available from major outlets.
The confirmation of the Oasis 2025 reunion tour has already had a significant impact, both online and in the music streaming world. Enthusiasts will have the chance to see the iconic band perform live in what promises to be one of the most memorable tours of the decade.
