Comprehensive Evaluation Process

The editorial team sought the perspectives of industry peers to compile a comprehensive long list before narrowing it down to the top 101 firms.
Recognition Across All Regions
This new accolade follows lists for Yorkshire and the Midlands, published in September and October respectively, highlighting tech innovation across various regions of the UK.
The North East edition marks the final regional list of 2018. It is part of a broader effort to recognise technological advancements outside of London.
Editor’s Perspective
Editor Chris Maguire noted the significance of the list in celebrating regional tech innovation, with previous lists gaining substantial engagement and millions of social media impressions.
Maguire emphasised the importance of acknowledging tech excellence in every UK region, not just the capital.
North East’s Growing Tech Scene
The editorial team has repeatedly visited Newcastle and the broader North East, witnessing firsthand the region’s technology offerings.
The ‘101 North East Tech’ list not only highlights the region’s current tech accomplishments but also sets the stage for future innovations.
As the North East continues to grow as a tech hub, these recognised firms are likely to lead the charge in technological advancements and innovations.
